Not much happened on Wednesday and Thursday, so much so I'm starting to forget them.
Wednesday was pretty typical; slept in, watched movies, ate a late lunch, meet up with Kraig. We were still on a Korean food high from the day before, so we decided to go out for some kimbap. And for such a deceptively easy task, we succeeded! Right out the gates, there was an older lady making kimbap in the front window of her shop. We took a seat in the 2 table shop and waited our turn. We did our usual tilt of the head with our one word question, 'kimbap?' and she nodded and started listing out options. The first one we understood was tuna, so we agreed to that. With our kimbap (Korean style sushi, which they hate you if you call it sushi because kimbap is far superior, as is anything Korean) we got small bowls of soup with mushroom, kimchi, and a small bottle of drinkable yogurt at the end. Aside from having to pick out the diced ham from the kimbap, the meal was yummy and satisfying. And ridiculously cheap. Ridiculously. 4000 won for both. Dinner for 2 for $4.25. We might have danced our way back, laughing at how we are champions of the cheap.
Thursday was similar. For dinner we went to Mr. Pizza again. Even though it's the same girls every time we go, they still are so shy and awkward around us. They should know by now that it's 2 waters and a small cheese pizza. One of these days I'm going to try out their salad bar. It's less lettuce and more of fruit and lots of unidentifiable items. I'm so craving fruit right now! It seems the only fruit they have here are bananas. Boo. I want peaches, oranges, strawberries, raspberries, and more! A tiny little fruit cup at 7-11 cost a buck fifty, way too much for us champs of the cheap. I figure one of these days, I'll do the salad bar and get my fill of fruit. Yum.
At dinner, Kraig surprised me with the last book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn! I'm already half way through... suppose I should slow down a bit. We took our after dinner stroll in the opposite direction we normally do. Good thing we did, we found a McDonalds and the Lotte Supermarket. I love McDonalds' ice cream and was so excited to find it is just as delicious over here, only cheaper! 2 cones for under a buck. We also picked up a couple items at Lotte, like some hair oil for my unruly mane.
Besides getting the Twilight book, the best part of Thursday was booking our flights to Boracay (the beach in the Philippines). We had a little fiasco with it, but all is well now. Hurray!
The beach sounds awesome right now. I wish I could grab my passport and meet you there!
ReplyDeleteme too! bring a baby or two!
ReplyDeleteHaha, um... I'm thinking about sitting on the beach...alone! Or at least without kids. :) I think I have to wait a few years, though.
